Sandy Summers has served as Executive Director of The Center for Nursing Advocacy since she and fellow Johns Hopkins graduate students founded it in April 2001. Ms. Summers is an Advanced Practice community health nurse, with Masters Degrees in Nursing and Public Health from Johns Hopkins University (2002). She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern Connecticut State University in 1984.

Jamie Kelly founded Entropy Research, Inc., an intelligence management service focused on collecting, summarizing, communicating and indexing secondary research relevant to customer-specific needs. Areas of expertise include patient safety, point-of-care computing technologies, electronic medical records, clinical data repository and decision support technologies. Prior to launching Entropy in 2005, Jamie provided healthcare market strategy as the Director of Marketing for Bridge Medical, the Strategic Marketing Manager at Phillips Medical Systems and as a Senior Consultant with Sachs Group.
Kelly graduated Magna cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University’s James Madison College in Political Economics and Japanese Language.
Shannon E. Perry, RN, PhD, FAAN

Shannon Perry is Professor Emerita, at the School of Nursing, San Francisco State University, and has earned diplomas in nursing from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, Bloomington, IL; a BSN from Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI; an MSN in Maternal-Child Nursing from the University of Colorado Medical Center, Denver, CO; and a PhD in Educational Psychology (Child Development) from Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ. Dr. Perry has had clinical experience as a staff nurse, head nurse, and supervisor in surgical nursing, obstetrics, pediatrics, gynecology, and neonatal nursing, and has taught nursing for approximately 30 years.
Currently a member of International Nursing Education Services and Accreditation and task force of the National League for Nursing and National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission, Dr. Perry has traveled extensively learning about nursing and health care in various countries, has taught international nursing courses in which she traveled with nursing students to the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Thailand, Ghana, and China, and participated in Health Missions in Ghana and Kenya.
